Save the Children

Throughout the year, Save the Children has committed itself to providing relief, response and recovery support to affected children and their families quickly and efficiently. To keep children safe from possible abuse and trauma, Save the Children set up Child Friendly Spaces within a week of the first earthquake. This was followed by Temporary Learning Centres complete with clean drinking water and toilet facilities. These centres ensured so many children did not lose out on education. This progress review identifies detailed examples of how Save the Children has contributed to keeping children safe in the wake of the 2015 earthquake: from finance and logistics, to child participation and advocacy work.
