The Kathmandu Declaration from the South and Central Asia Convergence of Working Children, 25-27 August 2005, was supported by a range of organizations and presented to the SAARC Secretariat (South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation). The declaration highlights both the positive and negative aspects of child work, whilst emphasising action to end hazardous forms of child work, as well as exploitation, discrimination and abuse which is commonly faced by many child workers. The Declaration provides concrete recommendations from the participating children for future action to be taken at national, regional and international levels.
