Access to Social Protection in Syhlet, Bangladesh

This study was undertaken to examine the coverage of social protection schemes in Sylhet, Bangladesh, and to analyse what barriers poor and vulnerable people face in accessing such schemes. The target area was chosen based on it being the operational area of a large multi-sector nutrition project being implemented by Save the Children: Suchana. The findings from this study were used for determining appropriate interventions for Suchana in order to increase access to social protection among eligible individuals and households. The findings are also useful more broadly for those working on social protection in the area and Bangladesh more broadly.
