Young Lives on Lockdown: The impact of Ebola on children and communities in Liberia

Publication year:

2014

English

Format:

pdf (639.8 KiB)

Publisher:

Plan International

In 2014, Plan International commissioned this report due to a lack of empirical research investigating the impact of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) beyond the direct impact of the virus on people’s health, in particular for children and young people.

The final report will investigate wider consequences in both Liberia and Sierra Leone, which will be released early 2015. As an initial report, this publication is intended to be a preview of the research with a focus on Liberia. Impacts on children and families include: a loss of maternal and child health services, loss of treatment for routine illnesses, loss of basic needs, food insecurity, loss of household income, and many others.
