The document presents the results of a study conducted by Save the Children Sweden to assess how thirteen bilateral and multilateral international donor organizations operating in Ethiopia, fulfilled their obligations under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). The study took the view that donors should be prioritizing children’s rights in their development cooperation strategies in line with the Committee on the Rights of the Child statement that there must be ‘a willingness [by states] to give higher political priority to children and an increasing sensitivity to the impact of governance on children and their human rights’ .Furthermore, the study took the view that the CRC should form the framework for international development assistance related directly or indirectly to children, and that programmer of donor States should be rights-based.
