Small Voices, Big Dreams 2019: Violence against children as explained by children

No child is completely immune to violence. Each year, nearly one billion children are afflicted by some type of physical, sexual, emotional violence or neglect, across different geographical, socioeconomic and cultural barriers.

Listening to children and taking their opinions into account is crucial to truly understand this global problem. Moreover, giving children a voice and promoting their role as rights-holders reduces their vulnerability and becomes a factor for protection in and of itself.

With this in mind, Small Voices Big Dreams listened to children from 15 different countries with diverse cultural and economic backgrounds to reveal their perceptions of violence against children, in all its dimensions.
