The importance of training militaries in child rights and child protection becomes increasingly obvious in the wake of so many humanitarian crises impossible to assist without the cooperation and support by militaries, in addition to the tragic fact that also militaries have been violators of children and their rights. One of the aims for the mapping of the existing military training has been to create a brief guide for Alliance members who are considering military training, and would want to know where other trainings are being conducted and what experience has been gained so far. It also serves to reinforce the information sharing and coordination of the Alliance members already heavily involved in military training programmes. Furthermore, this report could hopefully also be useful for other organisations who may want to contact an Alliance member for possible cooperation in future military trainings.
