The governments of the USA and Mexico have deported tens of thousands of unaccompanied migrant children to their countries of origin, without adequately evaluating the potentially irreparable harm that the children might face upon their return. Furthermore, unaccompanied migrant children have been denied access to asylum procedures by authorities of both countries through pushbacks at their respective borders. This has in some cases resulted in the forced return of asylum-seeking children to ill-treatment.
