The climate crisis is a child rights crisis and is directly threatening children’s ability to survive, grow and thrive. Although children and young people are the least responsible for climate change, they bear the greatest burden of its impacts. Therefore, it is crucial that national climate policies are child-sensitive. This discussion paper presents study findings from an analysis of new and updated nationally determined contributions on child sensitivity. Furthermore, it provides guidance on how to make climate and environmental policies and plans more child-sensitive.
