Save the Children Sweden
2007 Annual Report of the project “Familjerådgivning för barn” (Family counseling for children). Every year in Sweden, approximately 50,000 children will experience the effects of separation and divorce of their parents. Nearly 30% of all seventeen-year olds in the country have divorced parents, and very often they have no one they can talk to about their situation. Knowing that divorce can be a very painful experience for children has driven Save the Children Sweden to set up a website, skiljas.rb.se, in 2006, which provides support and advice, primarily via e-mail, to children and young people, many of whom have expressed strong emotions of grief and loneliness. Continuous guidance and counseling is provided through Save the Children’s Centre for children and youth in crisis.
