Global Initiative to End All Corporal Punishment of Children
This report tracks the country-level progress that has been made to prohibit corporal punishment of children in Pathfinding Countries. It emphasizes the importance of ending corporal punishment to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16.2. Furthermore, it outlines the current legality of corporal punishment and what needs to be done to abolish corporal punishment in each country. Additional country information includes governments commitment to ending corporal punishment, examples of good practice, recommendations from the UN and other regional treaty monitoring bodies, alongside other prevalent data.
The progress report has been produced in preparation for the End Violence Solutions Summit, which aims to raise awareness of SDG 16.2 and share solutions from around the world.
