Children in a Changing Climate

Recent decades have seen significant growth in the number of reported disasters such as droughts, floods and cyclones. Science tells us that this trend is likely to be exacerbated by climate change. More people are being adversely affected by these events. And it’s children who will bear a disproportionate share of the impact. Steps must be taken to reduce the risks to children from disasters. Children in a Changing Climate (CCC) studied a number of approaches and techniques of disaster risk reduction (DRR). As part of the the coalition, Save the Children knows the emphasis of DRR must now shift to secure the future of today’s children.
