This research, undertaken in Rahimyar Khan in the southern Punjab, Pakistan, aims to contribute to an enhanced understanding of the nature, underlying causes and consequences of child trafficking as camel jockeys. It sheds light on the plight of the trafficked children from Pakistan to wealthy Gulf countries for camel racing. The research findings clarify some of the myths associated with the issues of child camel jockeys and explain the modus operandi of trafficking mafia in achieving their ill objectives. The report clearly identifies different groups of people involved in child trafficking and those who collaborate with traffickers at different levels. The report also gives a wealth of information and guidance for initiating intervention programmes aimed at combating child trafficking for camel racing.
