On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 (the coronavirus) a pandemic. The virus has now spread across the globe and is a common threat to the health of everyone. There are a number of steps that we can take to lower the risk of transmission and to stay healthy. This spotlight contains information on how to protect yourself against COVID-19 and where to consult for more information on the outbreak. It draws on the recommendations from Save the Children and global partners. To stay updated on the most recent developments in the outbreak, refer to the World Health Organization’s website and your local health authorities.
