This paper was developed for the side event to the 46th Session of the Commission on Population and Development which took place in New York in April. It highlights the importance for the international debate on migration and development to properly take into account issues of child mobility and youth employment. It also explores how to build on the opportunities that migration opens up to children and their families, while guarding against the risk of exploitation.
