“Var Redo att Kämpa” – Asylsökande barn och föräldrar berättar om sin första tid i Sverige

Save the Children Sweden has worked with asylum-seeking children’s rights in Sweden for many years. This work is done both nationally — through developing knowledge and influencing policy development of the Swedish Migration Agency — and locally — through local branch offices that work with asylum-seeking children and their respective municipalities directly for better reception. Prioritized areas are the child’s best interests in the asylum-seeking process, children without documentation and their rights, as well as the reception of unaccompanied children or children accompanied by their families.

This study is the result of interviews with asylum-seeking children and their families on four aspects of reception in Sweden: housing, schooling, free time, and finances.
