These inspirational guidelines are based on one of the fundamental values of the Convention of the Rights of the Child – that the child has the right to express his or her opinion freely and to have that opinion taken into account in any matter or procedure affecting the child. These guidelines reflect the attitude of adults and how their responsiveness and sensitivity to children’s special status and needs are deciding factors for the full implementation and compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The material is primarily intended for the members of Save the Children and is specifically aimed at members with fundamental knowledge of children’s rights.
