State of the World's Minorities and Indigenous Peoples 2011. Events 2010

This year’s edition of State of the World’s Minorities and Indigenous Peoples produced by Minority Rights Group International (MRG), presents an overview of the situation of minority and indigenous women today. With a focus on women's rights, the report includes:1. Discussions of gender-based violence and armed conflict, including the violence that indigenous and minority women experience within their own communities, and the difficulties that they face in accessing justice and support from outside; 2. Consideration of the lack of progress made towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals for minority and indigenous women, with special focus on reproductive rights and maternal mortality; 3. Interviews and special reports on trafficking, intersectional discrimination, land seizures and women’s political representation; 4. Overviews of the human rights situation of minorities and indigenous peoples in every major world region; and 5. Peoples Under Threat 2011' – MRG’s unique statistical analysis and ranking of countries.
