Severe infections are one of the main causes of neonatal deaths worldwide. The typical recommended treatment for young infants experiencing severe infection is hospital admission with antibiotic therapy. Since there are barriers to hospital care for many children in low and middle-income countries, this study aims to identify alternative antibiotic regimens to expand treatment options.
