Review of Evaluation Approaches and Methods for Interventions Related to Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)

This review was commissioned by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) to assess the strengths, weaknesses and appropriateness of approaches and methods used to evaluate interventions on violence against women and girls (VAWG).

Several methodologies were employed during the course of this analysis: a textual analysis of evaluation reports focusing on VAWG; qualitative comparative analysis to identify the paths that led to effective evaluation in the field of VAWG; statistical analysis to assess trends and gaps regarding the study; and process tracing of different paths identified.
