Report compiled by Child Helpline International and member helplines, and submitted to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child in its 51st Session. The report includes a set of recommendations, such as a 3-4 digit, toll free, national helpline to be accessible to all children, particularly those marginalized and disadvantaged. It describes the current status of the helpline and opportunities for collaboration with NGOs and the government to scale up the helpline’s activities to reach out to more children. Bangladesh child helpline is operated by Bangladesh Shishu Adhikar Forum (BSAF) with cooperation from Aparajeyo Bangladesh and is not available 24 hours or daily. If the helpline is available through an easy to remember four digit, toll-free 24 hours numbers, with current technologies and infrastructure, it has the potential to reach more than 1.3 million calls annually.
