Off the Radar: Meeting Contraceptive Needs of Populations on the Move

This meeting summary provides an overview of and findings from the “Off the Radar: Meeting Contraceptive Needs of Populations on the Move” side event from the International Conference on Family Planning 2018. It is a helpful resource for program staff who are looking to explore challenges and opportunities to improving access to quality contraceptive services for nomadic and semi-nomadic populations. The objectives of the meeting were to develop a greater understanding of the health burden affecting nomadic and semi-nomadic populations; use collective knowledge to identify potential solutions to better serving nomadic and semi-nomadic populations; and generate momentum for continued engagement among participants and additional stakeholders. The event was hosted by Save the Children’s Contraception Without Borders family planning project in northeastern Kenya.
