Improving Provision of Family Planning Among Pastoralists in Kenya: Perspectives from health care providers, community and religious leaders

This research article explores the significant inequalities to access of family planning in Kenya, especially for nomadic and semi-nomadic pastoralists. Through interviews and thematic analysis, the authors provide key recommendations, mainly: programmes to improve family planning access should be delivered alongside interventions that target immediate health concerns of pastoralist communities and health care providers that are aware of religious and cultural reasons for non-use of family planning play a key role in improving access.
