“How Come You Allow Little Girls to Get Married?”: Child marriage in Yemen

"How Come You Allow Little Girls to Get Married?": Child Marriage in Yemen,' documents the lifelong damage to girls who are forced to marry young. Child marriages are widespread in Yemen. Most girls marry before they reach 18, and in rural areas, some marry as young as eight. Yemeni girls and women are being forced into child marriages by their families, and have little chance of controlling how many children they have or when they have them. Marrying early cuts short their education, and some are being subjected to sexual violence, including forced sex or marital rape.
