Health Boost Pilot in Shishuder Jonno Program

Save the Children has been implementing the Shishuder Jonno (SJ) programme in Meherpur district since 2008, through the School Health and Nutrition Programme (SHN) which aims to improve the health and educational status of school-age children.

Acknowledging the important role of parents in promoting the health of children, the Shishuder Jonno programme piloted “Health Boost.” This is an outreach intervention using voice messages to mobile phones of parents and caregivers to disseminate important health and hygiene messages so that they can support their children with practices that are beneficial for their health and well-being.

This brief provides the background, programme design, results and evaluation of the Health Boost programme.
