The third of its kind, the 2016 UNODC Global Report on Trafficking in Persons covers 136 countries and provides an overview of patterns and flows of human trafficking at global, regional, and national levels. The UNODC, having systematically collected data on trafficking for more than a decade, can identify trafficking trends on a range of indicators.

Chapter Two, a special thematic chapter, explores the connection between migration flows due to conflict, violence, and other factors linked to trafficking flows. Those who seek to escape persecution and conflict in search of security are particularly vulnerable to trafficking. The report examines this vulnerability as well as the different actors perpetrating trafficking in conflict areas, particularly armed groups.

An extensive collection of supplementary materials is available on the UNODC website: country profiles, annexes, and data collection files are available for download.
