Gaining respect – The voices of children in conflict with the law

‘Gaining Respect’ reports on what children, who have been in conflict with the law, have to say about:
– why they got into trouble; – their experiences with the justice system and the law enforcement authorities; – their relationships with their families and communities; and – their recommendations for better and more relevant solutions to the challenges that bring them into conflict with the law in the first place. This report is based on qualitative participatory research with children and young people in Uganda, Honduras, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, the Philippines and Tajikistan. The report is a contribution to the UN Study on Violence against Children from the International Save the Children Alliance.
