Humanitarian crises have different impacts on women, girls, men and boys. In most cases, women and girls are harmed disproportionately. Despite this, humanitarian interventions often fail to protect women and girl’s rights, and there is no global measure for tracking how humanitarian funding is reaching women’s rights actors. Ultimately, this leads to humanitarian action that is not led by or accountable to affected women and communities.
This report explores how Canada can support local women’s rights actors in humanitarian responses.
