Effects of Terrorist Attacks on Access to Maternal Healthcare Services: A national longitudinal study in Burkina Faso

Improvements in access to healthcare are likely to disappear if new barriers are introduced or former barriers are reinstituted. Common barriers for women's access to healthcare are user-fees and distance as well as poor quality. One aspect that remains underinvestigated, however, is the extent to which insecurity generated by terrorist attacks presents a new type of barrier.

This report explores the immediate and long-term effects of terrorist attacks on women's access to health care in Burkina Faso.
