Developing Inclusive Practices through Action Learning: Inclusive education cross-country peer-review of Bangladesh (Hope project) and Indonesia (IDEAL project)

The importance of an inclusive education is reinforced through multiple international treaties, including Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). Yet, it is one of the greatest challenges facing education systems around the world today. In striving to fulfill this right for all children, Save the Children works to better understand how schools can include all learners from the communities they serve and enable them both to meaningfully participate and achieve the best possible learning outcomes.

As part of this process, a cross-country peer-review of inclusion education project activities was conducted in Bangladesh and Indonesia. The aim of the review was to create a capacity building and professional learning opportunity based on inclusive education experience and expertise in another context. The background, methodology, findings of the study are enclosed within the document.
