Children are the least responsible for climate change. However, they will bear the greatest burden of its impact. At the time of writing, nearly 160 million children live in high drought-severity zones and 500 million live in extremely high flood occurrence zones. In addition to this, it is estimated that by 2040 almost 600 million children will be living in areas of extremely high water supply stress conditions.

The aim of this report is to outline the current and projected impacts of climate change. It also explores the related climate hazards, risks and vulnerabilities for children in sub-Saharan Africa.
