Save the Children US

A generation of children in America are experiencing multiple hardships brought on by the coronavirus. Many millions more children are now hungry, missing out on school, and worried about their family’s economic future. For children who were struggling before COVID-19, things have gotten worse.

Currently in the United States of America:

  • 17 million children are struggling with hunger
  • 1 in 4 children do not have access to distance learning
  • 69% of families have difficulty making ends meet
  • Children of color of twice as likely to face hunger compared to white children
  • Black & Hispanic children are 1.5 times less likely to have access to remote learning tools compared to white children

Going back to “normal” will not be enough for these kids. Massive investments are needed to help the most disadvantaged children to recover and catch up. Without these investments, the future of U.S. children and their nation is at risk.
