A recently adopted ASEAN Regional Plan of Action on the Elimination of Violence against Children includes the development of preventive measures against violence on the internet. In contribution, UNICEF has undertaken a mapping of existing frameworks, legislation, and programmes relating to the protection of children from online child sexual abuse and exploitation in the 10 ASEAN Member States.

The mapping, presented in this report, is not intended as a critique of countries’ progress but rather as an overview of the existing frameworks, legislation, and programmes. The mapping can then be used as a tool by relevant stakeholders to enable discussion on the current situation, and allow identification of gaps and opportunities to prevent and respond to online child sexual abuse and exploitation.
