During the height of its existence, approximately 4 640 children traveled from abroad to join ISIS/ISIL. Since the fall of the terrorist organization, many of these children have been living in one of the three displacements camps in Northern Syria. They face terrible conditions, many suffering from malnutrition and sickness since before arriving in the camps. 371 children of ISIS-affiliates died last year in the al-Hol camp alone.

This brief takes a rights-based approach to argue the immediate return of the children to their home countries by their respective governments.
