Since 2007, Save the Children has been introducing program-focused early grade reading assessments in selected basic education programs.This report explores the validity of an early grades reading assessment in Bangla, and examines baseline reading abilities across a range of types of schools in Bangladesh. While this is a baseline, no Literacy Boost activities were implemented following the completion of the study.
