The purpose of these guidelines is to provide a global framework for selecting, managing and dealing with implementing partners organisations. This guidance document should be used by Country Programmes as a point of reference. Personalised procedures can be developed according to local context should this need exist.  

These guidelines will help you to:

  • Introduce the advantages of working with implementing partners
  • Introduce the differences between the various types of partnerships
  • Understand the process of assessing, selecting and managing implementing partners
  • Follow best practice of working with a partner from selection to final assessment after the end of the project
  • Highlight the special issues arising when ending a partnership
