In parallel with the shift towards localisation in lieu of the Grand Bargain, women have also started to be recognized as active responders to crises, instead of just being seen as passive recipients of aid.
However, the extent to which women are being actively sought for meaningful collaboration with international actors in humanitarian response varies greatly.
Realizing this gap, this research study seeks to answer the question: ‘How is the humanitarian protection sector ensuring the participation and leadership of women responders?’
This study describes the findings to this question and also lists recommendations to increase the participation of women responders in humanitarian contexts.
