Watchlist on Children and Armed Conflict

Watchlist on Children and Armed Conflict conducted a five-week research mission to the Central African Republic to investigate the high number of attacks and military use of schools and to craft recommendations to realize children’s right to education. The report also investigates the effects of these attacks on children’s right to education. Since the eruption of conflict and violence in 2012, the study finds that Muslim students have not enrolled in school at the same rates as before the crisis. Children remain in fear of attack and opportunities for education are limited.Watchlist on Children and Armed Conflict conducted a five-week research mission to the Central African Republic to investigate the high number of attacks and military use of schools and to craft recommendations to realize children’s right to education.
