Low quality of maternal and newborn care is prominently reflected in the Bangladesh Health Facility Assessment report from 2017. Less than 1% of the facilities providing normal delivery care had the readiness to provide the necessary care.
This 2020 report summarizes the baseline findings of USAID’s MaMoni Maternal and Newborn Care Strengthening Project’s (MNCSP) project in Bangladesh’s health facility readiness assessment survey in project districts, including health facility readiness indicators related to maternal and newborn health care. The baseline data helped the program to identify low performing areas, design interventions, and set targets for programmatic improvements.
