45% of deaths of children under five globally are linked to malnutrition. Despite progress, 149 million children were stunted in 2020 and 45 million children were wasted. Although the pandemic has worsen the situation, the upcoming Tokyo Nutrition for Growth (N4G) Summit provides a crucial opportunity for new commitments to tackle malnutrition.
The United Kingdom Government’s previous investments in nutrition not only saved and improved lives directly, but had indirect impacts on the global financing and prioritisation of nutrition. This report provides recommendations, developed by the International Coalition for Advocacy on Nutrition (ICAN) United Kingdom, for the United Kingdom Government to uphold at the upcoming N4G Summit.
