The Thogomelo Project
The challenge of equipping individuals for essential roles at a community level while providing a real basis for career advancement is a widespread dilemma within community programmes. This case study describes the design of an accredited curriculum to meet the psychosocial needs of community caregivers supporting vulnerable children. This work took place between October 2008 and September 2009, during the first year of the Thogomelo Project.
