Three regional events were planned in 2000 as part of the United Nations General Assembly’s Special Session on Children (SSoC) process, to ensure children’s views were included in the next action plan for children. Two of the events were planned before the SSoC in 2001 with an aim to prepare children and young people to have their voices heard. The third event was to be held after the SSoC, in order to review what had taken place and to take up ideas from the follow-up.
