School corporal punishment (SCP) is still widely used in many countries. This review examined the association between SCP and children’s externalizing and internalizing behaviour as well as school performance. It concludes that SCP is a risk factor for externalizing behaviour, internalizing behaviour, and reduced school performance of children.
