Save the Children Italy
In emergency situations, children are always the most vulnerable – so right after the first earthquake that devastated Central Italy on August 24th, Save the Children Italy took immediate action.
One year after the start of these seismic events in 2016, this report is launched with the aim to tell Save the Children Italy’s experience in responding to the emergency. The different types of intervention are described, from those carried out during the acute phase of the emergency- such as the opening of Child-Friendly Spaces in Amatrice, Accumoli (Grisciano) and San Benedetto – to measures taken during the intermediate (‘return to school’) as well as the final (‘reconstruction’) phase.
