Save the Children Sweden
This Save the Children Sweden (SCS) report comments on the Swedish government’s fourth periodic report to the UN on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in Sweden. Save the Children Sweden has chosen to focus on certain areas which have been either completely overlooked, or inadequately covered in Sweden’s fourth periodic report. These areas are: the right to have applications for family reunification considered in a swift, humane, and receptive manner; asylum-seeking children suffering from severe withdrawal symptoms; the mandate of the Children’s Ombudsman; discrimination based on place of residence; and children and violence. The the last three issues are discussed in greater detail.
