Supplementary Report to the Philippine Report on the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child

Supplementary Report submitted by the National Coalition of NGOs for Monitoring the Convention on the Rights of the Child. It includes a commentary on the first report of the Philippine Government on “The Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.” This document is a supplement to the Government report and draws attention to the situation of Filipino children as an indication of the quality of implementation of the Convention. There are general comments on the Government report with regard to: the adopted legislative measures; the need for more qualitative and quantitative information to demonstrate the quality of implementation of the Convention; and the nature of NGO participation in monitoring the CRC. Recommendations for further strengthening of the GO-NGO collaboration are also included in this report.
