UNICEF’s 2013 edition of The State of the World’s Children is dedicated to the situation of children with disabilities – some of the most invisible and marginalized people in the world. The report examines the barriers – from inaccessible buildings to dismissive attitudes, from invisibility in official statistics to vicious discrimination – that deprive children with disabilities of their rights and keep them from participating fully in society. The report also contains the latest data on children with global and country-by-country breakdowns. The statistics focus on dozens of indicators, including demographics, health, education, child protection, HIV and AIDS and education.
