Special Care Newborn Unit (SCANU) Service

This video from USAID’s MaMoni Maternal and Newborn Care Strengthening Project (MNCSP) in Bangladesh highlights the need for and services of a hospital special care newborn unit (SCANU) for small and sick newborns, through the story of a mother and her sick baby. MaMoni MNCSP provided training and support for service providers in 20 SCANUs, as well as equipment maintenance and consultation support. SCANUs provide timely care for small and sick newborns that can save lives.
