Situation Analysis of Children and Women in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea – 2017

As a Member State of the UN, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has committed itself to the Sustainable Development Goals and their targets, adopted by the General Assembly in October 2015. Among the objectives of this situation analysis is to document progress made towards SDGs 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10, and to identify key challenges hindering the realization of the rights and welfare of children and women, as well as their causes. This is done as a crucial step in strengthening planning and programming for child rights in the DPRK.
