This research examines the extent to which schools in Istanbul provide safe, inclusive, and resilient learning environments for children. The study reviews institutional and school-level practices and structures related to physical and psychosocial safety, inclusion, and resilience, while also exploring how these concepts are experienced in everyday school life by students, caregivers, teachers, and other stakeholders. Particular attention is given to perceptions of safety and belonging, as well as the ways resilience and preparedness are integrated into school practices and learning environments. The research further maps existing referral pathways and support services available for psychosocial support, child protection, emergency preparedness, and inclusive education. Drawing on these findings, the study identifies key enabling factors and barriers affecting safe and inclusive schooling, educational continuity, and resilience at the system, school, and community levels, with the aim of informing evidence-based policy and programming.
